ABOUT SALLY

I am an experienced Brisbane-based musician and music teacher.  I hold a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland and an Associate Diploma of Music with Distinction in Flute Performance from the Australian Music Examinations Board.

I have operated my own private music teaching studio since 1997, providing individual lessons in piano, flute, harp and music theory.  I am also currently employed as a piano teacher at St Peters Lutheran College, Indooroopilly, since 2013.

Over the years I have taught over 450 students, prepared hundreds for exams with the Australian Music Examinations Board and held numerous concerts.

From 2007-2021 I worked as a harpist for weddings and other private functions, performing at close to 200 venues in South-East Queensland.  In 2012 and 2010, I was voted Queensland's Top Ceremony Musician as a harpist in the prestigious Australian Bridal Industry Awards and was runner-up in 2011.  I am not currently working as a harpist as my focus is now teaching.

I also work periodically as an accompanist for AMEB exams.

"Having grown up in a family of professional musicians, music has always been a part of my life.  I love teaching children the fundamental skills required to play an instrument so they can experience the joy of making music themselves throughout their lifetime."
